not me mondays

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to http://www.mycharmingkids.net">her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I DID NOT burn my carrots for dinner because I was too busy talking to my daycare parents. And Jerry DID NOT just cut off the burnt part and still fed them to the kids at dinner time

I DID NOT do my last weeks no me mondays because I was perfect and did nothing wrong. (HAHAHA) Come on I am a mom to 3 well maybe 7 if you include the daycare kids, and By the time I get on the computer at night I am never tired.

I DID NOT put Jacob in disposable diapers all last week cuz he had a case of the runs, since I cloth diaper I would not just take the "easy" way out and not use them.

I DO NOT ever just make a "wasted" trip to the store at night to get milk, bread or something else at night when the kids are in the tub, so this way I can go alone. The kids like to go to the store with just me, so why would I "forget" them at home with daddy to be by myself??

So now its your turn to tell everyone what you DID not do this week. I know I did not do more but right now my brian is fried and I can't remember anymore.

nuts or crazy??

Yesterday I needed to go to the store to get some milk and such. You all know that quick run in and get what you want, and it will cost you about $20.00 and when you walk out of the store you some how spent like $60.00 instead. So we, me and 4 kids under 3, ran to the store. Its not really that bad taking that many kids to Meijers since they have the "cool" carts as my kids call them. The cool cart is a normal cart but it has a bench seat attached to the cart. So I had Camron and Kayden in the bench seat, Jacob in the cart seat and Nathan in the basket in his car seat. Is amazing how many looks I got from other shoppers. Just that look of "Wow you have your hands full", or "Why does she have soo many kids". But then as I stood back and really thought about it, with the ages of the kids they could all really be all MINE! Camron and Kayden are both 3, so ok they might pass as twins to strangers, Jacob is 19 months and Nathan is 3 months. And here Katey was also in school so if she was with us I am sure we wouldv'e gotten more looks. But that is not the first time I have taken kids with me to the store it normally a bigger age difference than the group I took the other day. So either I was just nuts or crazy to take so many kids with me. But I can say all 4 kids were great in the store, no meltdowns, no yelling, just very good behavior that day. Would I do this again with the same 4 kids, ummmm yeah I would even with all the strange looks we got.

real boys wear "dresses"

On Thursday I took Jacob to get tubes in his ears. My mom stayed with the kids while my dad and I took Jacob to the hospital. We got at Ingham around 5:30 am. We were getting all checked in when the fire alarm stared to go off. The lady told us they were running on back up power due to some power outage in the area. So we climbed the stairs up to the waiting room. When we arrived to the 2nd floor we met a man who looked kinda scrubby. He told us that some lighting struck some tower and that's why the lights were out, and he had to go and check on some machines, so just sit tight. Great is all we thought, here Jacobs surgery was suppose to start at 7:30 and they might have to delay it. Then about 2 mins or so later the same guy that we were talking too walked back thru and he had on medical scrubs! I guess you can never tell a "book" by its cover. So the fire alarm turned off about 10 mins later. Thank goodness. So they showed us to our "room". I changed Jacob in to his gown. Got out the toys. Played. They checked his vitals and everything looked great. Jacob did great while waiting for his time. We brought toys with us so he was happy, but I think if I forgot the toys he would've done good also, since his favorite place to play was under the BED! We would put the toys thru the bars and he would push them back. Then 7:30 arrived. It was hard to leave him, but he did GREAT! He cried for maybe 30 seconds as the nurse carried him away, which made it easier for me. At 8 the doctor came and got me and told me he did great and that I should be able to see him in a few mins. It felt great to hold him again even though it was only 30 mins since I left him. We walked out of the hospital around 9 am. He is doing great and we have a follow up on Friday morning.

Jacob walking around before surgery. See real boys were dresses.

This was his favorite place to be while we were waiting for his turn.

snow and more snow, and a contest.

Last Sunday, yes super bowl day, the kids and I went to my parents house to play in the snow. My brother has 2 snowmobiles, my dad has a ranger and they have many many empty fields around their house. Katey loves riding with my brother because he likes to go FAST. Me on the other hand will go "slow" compared to him. My brother would be on with either his daughter or Katey, and I was on the other with Grace, my brothers daughter, or Camron. We spent most of the day outside and it was a great winter day. The sun was out and hardly any wind until after lunch, then it got windy but that didn't stop us from playing in the snow, it just makes us put on more clothes.

Katey all ready to go snowmobiling. She is wearing Grace's helmet.

One point while we were out, we came upon this. It was my dad and Grace. My dad turned too early or didn't go fast enough and got the ranger stuck. They were on their way back to the house which wouldv'e been about 1/2 mile walk. The kids just laughed thinking that grandpa got stuck. I think every year when we do this someone always gets the ranger stuck. I know before we headed out to play mom made sure that we had our cell phones on just in case, and here what 15 yrs ago we would play in these field with no phones and no one worried. How the times have changed. I asked dad why he didn't call "well i didn't think anyone would've heard the phone ring"

My brother hooking up the ranger to his snowmobile.

Camron making a snow angle while he waits for Grandpa to get unstuck.

Mommy and Camron all bundled up and staying warm. On my brothers snowmobiles it has a button that you push down to turn it off. One time with Camron and I were riding the darn thing just stopped and my brother and Katey just rode off to head home. Iam thinking great now what, but then i noticed that Camron just turned it off. Little turkey.
Poor little Jacob was stuck inside with grandma due to a double ear infection. So hopefully next year he will be feeling better and he can come and play outside also.
Amanda over at Among the Mess is having a another great giveaway for a car candle thru Scentsy . SO head on over to her site and check out all the ways that you can win

product reviews

I found the perfect gate for our house about 4 years ago. When we moved into the house we are at, I began a daycare and with a upstairs that I wanted off limits to the other kids I had to find a gate. Most of the gate that I was finding was either the pressure gates or the ones you screw to the wall that swing out. I really didn't want either one. When I was looking thru my One Step Ahead magazine I came across the Kiddy Gaurd Gate. What makes this gate the best gate ever?? Well it will rolls back into itself. So when your not using it, it almost looks like you have no gate at all. It withstands 220lbs of pressure so it make it a great gate for the top of stairs also. Its almost nearly impossible for a child to open the gate, shoot my mom and husband still fight to get the gate to open or close. All the hardware that you need for this gate is included so no buying extra parts. My first gate broke and I called one step ahead and told them what happened, the internal spring broke which didn't allow it to wind back into itself. They charged me for a new gate, and when I sent back the old gate, postage paid by one step ahead, the refunded me my money. I really want to buy another gate for the basement steps and get rid of the old swing gate. This is and will be the last gate that I will ever have to buy for our house.

not me mondays

Once again the weekend is gone and Monday is here again. Everyone dreads Monday unless you are part of mckmama's wolverines and you love not me mondays. Its easy to play along with. All you do if tell everyone what "You didn't do" this week. So here I go.............

I DID NOT have to to take Jacob to the doctor on Friday because his nose was dripping like a leaky faucet, he did not have runny goopy eyes. He most certainly did not have another ear infection since he just got off antibiotics the week before! And I AM NOT counting down the days until Feb 12, since that is the day he has tubes put in to I hope avoid these darn ear infections

I DID NOT have fun snowmobiling this weekend with the kids at my parents house.

I DO NOT ever get tired of having to tuck Camron into his bed at night for a million and one times every single night. Cuz what kind of mom would I be if I didn't tuck him in at night after every time he gets out of bed to go pee, to tell daddy something just to avoid going to sleep!

I am NOT looking forward to this summer when I get to go and see my friend that I have never met in person but he have talked on the phone for what, the last almost 6 years.

Ok I guess that covers part of this week. But I do have a special prayer request for anyone or everyone who reads this blog....I have this dear friend who lost her father a few weeks ago. Now they have to take her mom to a specialist because she has a mass on her brain. They don't know what it is yet, they have already done a MRI. But if you would just say a small prayer giving them the courage to get thru this hard time in their lives I would appreciate it. Thanks so very much.
